With your Adventure Cooler's internal temperature dropping once packed with ice the air inside sometimes creates an air lock. The air lock keeps your cooler lid tightly closed and sometimes creates a struggle when opening the cooler. The pressure valve is there for that exact purpose. Open the valve and let a little air in and your lid pops open with ease.
